Convert GLB to STL

Drop a GLB file to extract its geometry as a printable STL. Textures, PBR materials and colours are dropped: STL only stores triangles.

What changes in the conversion

Kept

  • Triangle geometry and silhouette
  • Shape and proportions
  • Every mesh of the scene, merged into one STL

Dropped

  • Materials and textures
  • Vertex colours and UV maps
  • Animations, lights and cameras
  • Physical units (STL is unitless)

Common mistakes

  • A GLB that only contains lights or cameras has no mesh to convert.
  • Scenes above roughly 100 MB may exceed browser memory; export them in parts.
  • If a material uses a rare extension, the geometry is kept but the surface may look flat.

For 3D printing

  • Check the scale in your slicer: GLB carries no physical unit, so a 1-unit model can be 1 mm or 1 m.
  • Textures are irrelevant for printing; the triangle count is what matters for detail and file size.

Download the result and open it in your slicer or 3D software.

Frequently asked questions

Is my GLB uploaded to a server?+

No. The file is parsed and converted locally with WebAssembly and your browser's memory; nothing leaves your device.

Will I lose the colours?+

Yes. STL has no material or texture support. Use OBJ or GLB if you need colours, and STL only for printing or geometry exchange.

Why is the STL larger than the GLB?+

STL stores every triangle as three raw vertices with no compression. A 10 MB GLB with textures can become a 20–40 MB STL.

Need a model instead of a conversion?

Turn a photo, a drawing or a logo into a 3D model, then export it in the format you need.
